Shawn did an excellent job building a deck and staircase over my existing concrete structure. He offered a fair price, started promptly, and worked with diligence and efficiency. I know it’s easy to be skeptical of all the 5-star reviews out there, but in this case, the praise is well deserved. I’m very happy with the results and highly recommend his services.

Do not trust this company/Shawn. He will take your deposit and run - I had him do several jobs which turned out subpar. We’re talking nails sticking out of walls that were painted over, gaps in drywall, and code violations. When I asked for a deposit back on a job he hadn’t done (about $5,000) he took months to partially repay me and then ghosted me. Not to mention being threatened over the phone after I asked for the money. Go with someone else.

I cannot say enough good things about Shawn and his team. I needed an urgent bathroom remodel and a ramp for my mom after she was temporarily immobilized from an injury. He came out within a day to give the estimate, started within a week and was done in 3 days. Everything was very well done and the price was very reasonable and fair. His communication throughout was excellent. If you are in Northwest IN area, you cannot find a better contractor. He will have our business as long as he is in business. Thanks Shawn!!!

We have been using Shawn of S & K construction for over three years. We specialize in renovating older homes, which is sometimes not easy to find a skilled contractor for. Shawn is brilliant at the smallest of a jobs like reframing a door, or the largest of jobs like a full kitchen, bathroom, or even an entire floor renovation. We find his rates to be industry, standard, very reasonable, and he goes above and beyond to always do every job accurately without cutting any corners. I will add a couple of photos, but we have so many pictures of his work hard to know where to start!
